Only a freshman when he entered the statewide design contest, Cornett credits his 7th grade art instructor with teaching him to draw and his parents with encouraging him to pursue this talent. The medal bears the profile of Yuri Gargarin, the first man to travel in space. [12] The first Lydian coins were made of electrum, a naturally occurring alloy of silver and gold that was further alloyed with added silver and copper.
